The Days Leading Up...

As the days until my trip become fewer and fewer, I am both increasingly excited and increasingly nervous about what the next five months have in store. While traveling is what I love to do, and I cannot wait to truly be on my own exploring a new place for so long, I have also never been so far from home for so long before. The durations of my trips have never been more than a month and I am about to spend five, living in an unfamiliar place, and speaking a language other than my native one. I know I will have challenges, but I'm prepared to struggle because I know that the pay off will be worth it.

I know there will be ups and downs during my time abroad but I'm eager to see what Ecuador has to offer. I'm excited to see the growth of my Spanish skills, and my personal growth as I learn more about myself through new situations. As much as I know that I will miss my family and my friends at home, I am blessed that I have so much love and support surrounding me that I know I will be able to feel, even from thousands of miles away. Beyond that I cannot wait for all of the friendships and connections that I will be making abroad and am very excited to share them with every one of you back home!
